Tuesday, 07 February 2012

Buckingham Palace have announced the line up of musical stars including Elton John and Paul McCartney will perform at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert, on Monday 4th June.

This historic concert, a celebration of The Queen’s 60-year reign through music, will be attended by Her Majesty The Queen, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and other Members of the Royal Family.

Staged in the stunning surroundings of the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace, it will make full use of the historic backdrop with spectacular lighting and projections.

The concert will include classic hits and one-off collaborations from over fourteen different artists with only 10,000 members of the public lucky enough to attend this unique event.

A national ballot has been launched today and you are invited to apply by logging on to bbc.co.uk/diamondjubilee

Paul McCartney brought his On The Run tour to the UK last year with sell out shows in London, Manchester and Liverpool. Elton John currently in Las Vegas performing his new show 'The Million Dollar Piano' will take time out from his UK tour this June to perform for the queen.
