Paul is 'revved' up for next leg of 'On The Run' tour.

Monday, 14 November 2011
Paul McCartney only just got married a few weeks ago, but is already heading back out on the road. He will started his On the Run tour in Abu Dhabi on 13 November at the Grand Prix Circuit and then continues with 10 more special concerts in venues across 3 continents. Paul will be performing all around Europe, from Italy to Russia, and then closing the tour in Liverpool a year to the day since his intimate show there last year!

The On the Run tour will see Paul and his band perform for the first time ever in the United Arab Emirates. Excitement is already bubbling up amongst the crew, as Paul admits that the “particular excitement of going to Abu Dhabi is the F1 aspect” (who can blame them!). If they get the chance to watch the race, it won’t be the first time for Paul, as The Beatles visited the Grand Prix in Monaco - which apparently was “even louder” than their show!

Back in 2003, Paul played a legendary, free show at the Coliseum in Rome to half a million people. He describes that gig as “a brilliant, romantic, beautiful night”. In just a few weeks, he will return to Italy for the first time in eight years, but this time to play in Bologna and Milan.

Paul will return to Sweden and Finland and he plans on brushing up on his Swedish and Finnish as well as “re-learning some local phrases”, as he believes it is “always nice to speak to people in their own languages”.

Perhaps the most exciting part of bring On the Run, will be Paul playing in his hometown of Liverpool once again. Of course he loves playing all around the world, but he says “there’s always that feeling of it would be good to play this for the home crowd. We love it, and the audience does too. So that’s an unbeatable combination”.

Tickets for the ‘On The Run’ tour are on sale now. See the full line up of tour dates and venues here
