Sir Elton John, undoubtedly one of the biggest artists in the world, announced today that he will bring his unforgettable LIVE show to Blackpool this summer, for one special concert.
Elton John and his band will perform at the launch event of the NEW Tower Festival Headland in Blackpool on Saturday 16th June 2012. Elton will be the first ever artist to perform in this NEW and unique location. The show will be a fully seated event, however we doubt this will prevent singing along and dancing in the aisles!
Elton last played in Blackpool 30 years ago, back in November 1982, with his band at Blackpool Opera House. Elton said: “I have played over 3000 concerts – but I haven’t performed in Blackpool for thirty years! So I’m looking forward to revisiting this legendary seaside town and playing on the Golden Mile, right near the Blackpool Tower. See you in June!”

The show will open with special musical guests, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, the ultra-modern strings duo also known as 2CELLOS, who will warm up the crowds ahead of the main event. Elton’s live performance of over two hours, will include many hits from his back catalogue, such as, “Crocodile Rock”, “Your Song”, “Bennie and the Jets” and many more.
