Peter Andre

Peter Andre, born Peter James Andrea, began his life on the 27th February 1973 at Northwick Park Hospital in London, England. He is the youngest of his four brothers Andrew, Chris, Danny, Michael and his sister Debbie.

Peter had a desire for music from a very early age listening to the sounds of Motown, with the likes of The Jacksons and Stevie Wonder becoming a major influence in his later life both musically and personally.

The Andres immigrated to Australia when Peter was just six years old, only to return to the UK three years later for just 18 months. It was this period that Peter's desire for writing music began to set in. Listening to soul, blues, jazz and reggae, Peter started putting pen to paper and writing whatever lyrics he could. Although there was nothing he felt proud of showing to anyone, he continued to write.

The Andres once again moved back to Australia and at age 13 Peter wrote his first song (along with brother Chris) called 'Dream A Little'. This song eventually became part of his debut album 'Peter Andre'. Writing songs became Peter's devotion and by the time he was 16, he had a backlog of songs written; many of which were co-written with his brother Chris.

At age 16, Peter applied to become a contestant of 'New Faces' (a show very similar to the modern day X Factor), and once Peter appeared on the show. He not only impressed the judges, but was offered a recording contract live on television; something that had never happened before on Australian television, and has never happened since.

Peter released his first single in 1992, and within two years, had received his first Gold album. His first Top 5 Australian single was 'Gimme Little Sign' at the age of 19. This single became Australia's fastest selling single in 1993. Peter received numerous national awards in Australia for his outstanding musical achievements. Peter was chosen to be the special guest performer for both the Madonna and Bobby Brown concert tours. In 1995 he toured with East 17 for their UK and then European tour.

Peter decided it was time to move back to the UK to try his luck on the British music scene. His first releaseā€š 'Only One' hit the Top 20 at Number 16, followed by the second release of 'Mysterious Girl' finally making Number 2 in the UK Charts, securing his success in the UK.

In September 1996 Peter became the first Australian male artist to debut at No. 1 in the UK, with 'Flava'. 'I Feel You' followed in the December, also debuting at number 1.  Peter then scooped up two awards that year at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party. Peter's most successful release that year was 'Mysterious Girl' which sold over 2 million copies worldwide making it the highest selling single of 1996.

Chart success soon led to major tours throughout Europe, UK, Asia and Australia. Peter's final support tour was with Tina Turner before embarking on his own UK/European Tour. Peter's lifelong dream was to perform at Wembley, close to where he was born. He achieved this with a sell-out concert at Wembley Arena on the 16th July 1997. By 1997, with a multitude of national and international awards to his credit and the 6th highest selling solo artist in the UK during the 90's, Peter's music and merchandise sales had grossed in excess of 20 million pounds.

On the 26th January 2004, Pete appeared on Granada TV's 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here' with nine other celebrities in the Australian jungle. Within ten days of Peter appearing on the show, the re-release of Mysterious Girl became imminent, thanks to a campaign by Radio One DJ, Chris Moyles. The song went straight to number 1, making history for being the first single to reach the top of the charts on its third time of being released. Same song, same video. Proceeds for this song went to Peter's chosen jungle charity, the NSPCC. As a result, the NSPCC made Peter an ambassador, and he continues today to support the charity wholeheartedly.

Peter married Katie Price on 10th September 2005 at Highclere Castle, Berkshire, UK, becoming stepfather to Price's son, Harvey. Peter and Katie became the parents of a baby boy, Junior Savva Andre, on 13th June 2005. Their daughter, Princess Tiaamii, was born on 29th June 2007.

Peter and Katie announced their seperation on 11th May 2009 after four years of marriage. Their decree nisi was awarded on 8th September 2009.

Also in 2009 whilst filming one of the couple's reality TV shows 'Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter Stateside' Peter flew to America to record a new album. Peter was so excited about this project, which he hoped would revolutionize the way pop artists express themselves without the influence of record companies. This album was funded solely by Peter. The album was later named 'Revelation' and reached number 3 in the UK album charts in September 2009 following the success of its first single 'Behind Closed Doors' which had charted at number 4.

Peter started filming his own reality TV series 'Peter Andre: The Next Chapter' which had an astonishing 2.2 million viewers. Following the success of the show and his album, Peter then released another album in February 2010 called 'Unconditional Love Songs'. The album, which was a selection of love songs Peter had recorded during his career and some covers of his favorite artists, was a top 10 hit. Peter then embarked on his sold out 'Revelation' Tour in Spring 2010.

Alongside his music career Peter also released the women's fragrance 'Unconditional' in 2009 and then released the mens fragrance 'Conditional' in 2010. He also appeared on the British TV show 'This Morning' as an entertainment reporter in late 2009 as well as presenting the 'The 5 O'Clock Show' on channel Four in June 2010.

Peter is currently filming for his second series of 'Peter Andre: The Next Chapter' which will air on ITV2 on June 10th. Peter is also launching his book 'My World in pictures and words' on June 10th when he will commence a small signing tour.

Following the sucess of the 'Revelation' tour Pete has also announced and arena tour in December 2010.
